Bill: Hello to all who are watching!
Q: Welcome to Modena. He wanted to know if you’ve already seen the city, how you’re spending your tour-days.
Bill: Sadly not. We just arrived two or three hours before and came directly to the venue, so we didn’t see anything of the city. And I regret to say that directly after this concert, we go on to the next town… right now, we’re a bit in festival-stress. But what we see from here is that it’s extremely hot and great weather and our fans are rocking, so we’re happy to be here.
Q: There’s the rumor that 60,000 € were stolen from the concert in Rome?
Tom: When I look at my bank account, I’d say that’s quite possible ;-)… But no, I’ve not heard of this, not really?!
Q: He says you don’t have to be afraid, he won’t start asking questions about your hair.
Bill: That’s very kind.
Q: *Gives over the TRL award for best band*
Bill: We want to thank our fans, all those who voted for us. Thank you for this award, we’re very proud and we look forward to our concert and our fans, so, thank you very much, we’re extremely happy. Thanks.
Q: So, who gets to keep these awards? Or do you just throw them away?
Bill: I just said it: Looks like we again only get one, but we’re four, and we can’t divide it up… and I just said: Tom and I definitely will take this one home, so it’ll stand in our cupboard, among all the other nice awards, so that it won’t be lonely. So, they always get a place of honor.
Q: From the outside, you look very “compact”, very friendly among each other. When you have time, do you go out to party together in the evening? Are you together outside of the band, also?
Bill: We definitely are always doing things together. I can hardly think of days in the year where we were apart, because we’ve known each other for 8 years now, I think we are, like, the closest friends. So, we really make every step together… it doesn’t just look like it, that’s really how it is…
Tom: However, I have to say: Private parties, there I rather go on my own, without the other guys, because, when I go out with Georg, it happens often that the girls only care about Georg…
Georg: …for good reason…
Tom: …so I always go out alone now, then I now and then also have the chance to score.

Q: Could you imagine a life without music? What would you have done if this hadn’t happened?
Bill: Nothing… We’d have stood in small clubs, we’d still have made music, because we couldn’t imagine a life without music. I always was convinced that some day we’d make it, that we’d play on big stages - though I wouldn’t have dreamed that they would be so big. But I always hoped that I would at least be able to make a living with music, and I gave everything for that.
Tom: Maybe stripper, as a part-time job. But apart from that… definitely more focus on the music.

Tokio Hotel Fans Vs. Jonas Brothers Fans!
Tokio Hotel Fans Wage Online War With Jonas Brothers Supporters

Is it possible that MTV has launched an all-out war between crazed fans of the Jonas Brothers and Tokio Hotel?
When our sister blog Buzzworthy published an entry seemingly comparing JB fanatics with TH devotees, the site’s dear readers almost killed each other (in the blog sense, that is). The original Buzzworthy post was actually talking about the official addition of the word “fanboy” to the Merriam-Webster dictionary and hinted that JB and TH fans may be the ones to thank.
But then things got out of hand … really out of hand. Karleigh and Katie Santry, who run JonasBrothersFan.com, even say that angry Tokio Hotel fans started posting inappropriate material on their forums, including pornography and violent photos. “Morbid stuff,” as the girls described it.
The Jonas site has removed all the nasty images, and Buzzworthy even tried to reconcile the fighting fans. (Article Below) After much trash-talk, it looks like a peace may have been forged. Come on, gang. We’re all in this together. Can’t we all idolize in peace?

Tokio Hotel & Jonas Brothers Fans: You Kids Play Nice, Or I Swear to God, You’re Grounded!
Just wait ’til your father gets home! Seriously though, when we posted that fanboy post yesterday, it was so not intended to compare or pit Jonas Brothers and Tokio Hotel fans against each other. Quite the opposite actually. It was a lighthearted way of recognizing that fans of both bands have the power to band together and support the guys you love — truly, it’s the kind of passion that, these days, you only see directed toward Jesus, Barack Obama, and iPhones.
It’s not about who’s been around longer, or toured Europe, or sold the most albums, or has Miley Cyrus on their Buddy List (or who blocked her) or whatever. It’s not about who’s had sex, or who’s got more hair “down there,” or who’s scene, or who pones hardest. It’s about finding your favorite band’s music meaningful and letting fans of other bands do the same without all that unnecessary Gossip Girl angst.
And now, we’ll defer to “Liane,” whose comment succinctly expresses our thoughts:

All of the Tokio Hotel fans and Jonas Brothers fans who are bashing each other should stop. Anyone is entitled to their own opinions, but that doesn’t mean that they should start talking smack about the other band. Each of the bands have dedicated fans and their own style that makes them unique.

Tokio Hotel fans camp for a week to see band up close:
GENEVA (AFP) — Thirty young girls have been camping for days outside Geneva's largest concert hall to get front row standing space at a gig by teen Indie rock group Tokio Hotel, a newspaper said Wednesday.
The group is set to play this Saturday in the hall which has a capacity of 10,000.
Braving the heat by day and cold by night, the fans aged 13 to 22 have been camping out in some 15 tents on concrete in front of the Arena, a hall located between the airport and a Geneva highway.
Some of these teenagers from Switzerland and France had arrived as early as last Saturday.
The concert organisers have had to hire a security guard to keep watch over the girls at night.
Tokio Hotel released their first album "Schrei" (Scream) in May 2006 and sold some 600,000 copies in six days in Germany. It also quickly became a major success in France, Austria and Switzerland.

German young'uns Tokio Hotel could arguably be seen as the most successful rock band in Europe right now. With a 10x platinum debut album and a tour résumé that's seen them take in 400,000 fans in 43 cities, the staggeringly young band - average age just 18 - now have ol' Blighty set well and truly in their sights, and resistance is futile.
The bands sound is well honed on debut English single Ready, Set, Go - a ferocious, biting diatribe about believing in yourself, taking chances and embracing dreams. Twin brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz front vocals and guitars respectively, showcasing a talent that befits their young years on this sprawling, building opening cut from upcoming album Scream.
As the tagline says, the phenomenon has arrived...

I know we're nearing the Islington Academy before I even lay eyes on it. The screams can be heard from Islington High Street. I guess the Tokio Hotel gig was never going to be a quiet affair.
Earlier, at Angel tube station, the fans were easy to spot. Maybe it was their tender age, maybe it's because most were of the female persuasion or maybe it was just the gleam of excitement in their eyes. Most wore black and a majority came armed with posters, arm bands, glow sticks and attention attracting paraphernalia.
The line-up outside is hefty and more than a few passers by find themselves engulfed by curiosity. "What the hell is going on here?" I could answer by describing the German music invasion in detail but for now, "The next big thing" will suffice.
My companion and I aren't bothered about a front row position (forget the smoking ban, such large doses of passive pheromone inhalation is harder to cope with). Instead, we discuss music over a bottle of Rose and wait for the dust to settle. We need the ‘Dutch courage’ to tackle this lot. Later, the path to Tokio Hotel is a clear and silent one. Inside it's a different story.
The first thing we notice is the audience division; the number of brave folk accompanying their offspring is impressive; oldies (and press) at the back, the hard-core fans at the front. We're wedged somewhere in between. As the minutes tick by, the tension mounts...
The screaming is like a tsunami; you don't really know it's coming but when it hits, it knocks you for six; I’ve never heard such a level of lung stretching in my life. I wasn't around during the Beatles era but I'm guessing the screeching was similar. Although this band hasn’t hit The Beatles’ popularity levels yet, they're dangerously huge in Germany. Number One singles, platinum albums and regular sold-out gigs to audiences of over 60,000… you name it. Yep, Tokio Hotel already have their home country in a spell.
As Tom, Georg and Gustav hit the stage, hands rise towards the heavens and the room full of fans lets out a collective gasp of hysteria. I'm sure the girls in front of us will faint when front man (boy) Bill shows his face (and big hair). I can't help but worry for the front row battlers; we've made a smart move by hanging back. The fans towards the front look as though they're taking pushing and shoving to the extremes. Blimey, I saw Pearl Jam at Wembley last night and this lot rival the mosh bunnies there. (According to a number of fans on the official UK forum, the atmosphere at the front of the TH gig was unbearable). It’s a pity for people who want to see their favourite band without risk of injury.
The lads rip into their set. They certainly look the part - Bill's hair never fails to surprise. How he manages to style his long black locks is beyond me. His 'do' would do 'Sonic The Hedgehog' proud. There must be a hair-product deal on the horizon; seriously, the guy is missing out on some major royalties.
I interviewed the lads last month and even then, Bill had hair and eye-liner of epic proportions. As far as 'image' goes, the German foursome has it mastered. Appearance wise, identical twins Bill and Tom are as striking as they are unique. Tonight is no different; Tom hunches over his guitar in baggy jeans and an oversized white T-shirt, brown dreadlocks tied back and held in place with a black bandana and cap. Bill in stark contrast is decked in tight black... his elfin features framed by a mop of spiky black hair. Gustav and Georg are older (is twenty old these days?) but no less popular. They've covered all 'looks' here... there's one to suit every girl's taste.
When I asked about the typical Tokio Hotel gig Bill answered "We don't have an exact concept ready when we go on stage - most stuff happens spontaneously". Spontaneity aside, the band are tight and the reaction even tighter. The faithful UK fans are treated to the entire 'Scream' album; it’s all in English and they sing along to every word. Bill banters a little in between tunes - mostly to say thank you with a distinct German twang. I can't help but feel that a gig in their native tongue would carry a heavier punch but full credit to the boys for the translations. Something tells me the people here tonight know the words in both languages.
I sing along to ‘Monsoon’ and ‘’Ready, Set, Go!’ (I didn't even realise I knew the words!) - interview research obviously has a subconscious level I didn’t know about. That's the thing; this band is as likeable as it is inescapable. Just last week I was holidaying in Paris and their faces were plastered across every music channel we flicked to. Later, my Swedish friend informed me they've hit the big time there too. If the flags in the audience are anything to go by, these boys are spanning the nations. Poland and France are particularly well represented - it's getting rougher in there by the minute.
Unfortunately, our view is blocked by a sea of cameras and posters. How people can fully lap up a concert's vibe whilst trying to hold a camera straight is a mystery. Sure, get some happy snaps but take care to savour the moment too. Tonight, the venue isn't huge and this rare feeling of intimacy will be short lived. If their UK fan base eventually matches that in Germany, an up close and personal Tokio Hotel experiences will be non-existent.
Amidst the hysteria, the band stands proud. Bill's voice doesn't hold as strong as the likes of Vedder and his fellow musical legends but this seventeen year old has a lifetime of stardom (and vocal development) ahead of him. In fact, all four do. The fans love them and the critics love to bag them. They're not everyone's cup of tea but young Brits don't drink much of that anyway. If you can't scull vodka, go for the mixers. As Bill informed me "As soon as you're successful, there will instantly be people who'll be jealous and I think that's pretty normal". If the amount of female attention these lads are receiving is anything to go by, we'll see a lot more of them in the years to come. Good on them. Jealousy, it seems will be part of the package... the band have talent and magnetism all rolled into one.
Let's just hope the fans don't grind each other to a pulp in the meantime. "
