Just a very old one...

Okay, so everyone in this region has heard of Tokio Hotel, thanks to me obviously. But for those randomers who have just been browsing bebo, here’s a quick explanation of them and their incredible music.Bill: Bill’s the lead singer of this group, currently in recovery after an operation due to a cyst on his vocal chords caused by his constant singing and over-stressed lifestyle. He’s incredibly, freakishly beautiful, with an elfin face with razor sharp cheekbones that most girls would rip off their best friends limbs for, and a natural grace that makes his movements mesmerising. Plus perfect nails that we would all commit heinous crimes for. He’s basically one of those beautiful androgens that you can’t tear your eyes away from, even though it might raise questions about your sexuality. His hair is gravity defying, his make-up always flawless, and done by himself, (when asked if he had a make-up artist or a stylist, he just shook his head in that cute way and said, in German of course “I think it’s important for us to have our own style. Otherwise we wouldn’t be Tokio Hotel. And as for make up, I couldn’t bear to have someone working on my face all day, I do it myself.”) his jackets leather and studded, but at the same time fitted, which gives him his effeminate elegance. Oh, how we love boys who take care of themselves.Tom: In an effort to detract attention from his brothers bewitching style, Tom is exactly the opposite of his twin. Wearing baggy T-shirts and jeans you could get lost in, he covers his long dreadlocks with a cap and hat and walks with an over masculine swagger, whilst boasting of his one-girl-a-night policy to all that care to hear. He listens to hip-hop in his spare time, which isn’t exactly the general expectation from the guitarist in a rock group, but hey, variation is everything! Tom bears the same face as his brother, but for some reason, despite their identical DNA, there is something very different about these two siblings. The cheekbones you could cut yourself on seem softer in Tom’s face, and the cat-like eyes that are so heavily outlined in eyeliner in Bills face are altogether more average in Tom’s, albeit still as gorgeous.Georg: Georg (pronounced Geyy-Org) is the bassist of this band, and bears the archetypal rocky appearance to go with it. His hair is long and layered, obviously straightened half to death, and his muscles are big and burly compared to the twins slim figures. His chunky features disguise his true nature though-in a recent interview he claimed to have set up a picnic for a girl in the woods (aww, what a sweetie J)Unlike Pete Wentz, the bassist of fall-out-boy, he isn’t an empty eyed pretty-boy, but instead is the slightly evil-looking moody one, who you can just imagine pondering the mysteries of the world as their publicist scheduled yet another interview with Grazia or Kerrang!. Plus, he’s a GOD on the bass, so we’re not complaining. And, without the brunette lengths on his head, he’d look quite like Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic.Gustav: Gustav, the drummer, is undoubtedly the quiet one of the group. With a typically masculine style and a face that reminds me of a teddy bear. He doesn’t really say much, but you get the impression that he’s the calm and collected one of the band; the one Tom can go to if he can’t get a chord right on the guitar, or the guy Bill can tell his darkest secrets to (Not that he has any, he’s far too nice ;]). This is the bit that made me laugh. In an interview when literally everyone was chatting but him, the Interviewer asked if he had anything at all to say. What did Gustav say? Was it an epic poem? Was it the meaning of life? Was it the monologue from Star Wars? No. It was “Nein”.The MusicTheir music is exactly what you’d expect from a teenage band from Germany; you can’t! As the ones who paved the way for a German phenomenon, they are the first in their genre. Their music is a mixture of plucky songs about not wanting to grow up, the Kaulitz twins parents divorce, relationships and rain, all with lyrics, which if directly translated, sound pretty much like poetry to me ( I mean, Am Abgrund Entlang= Along the abyss. How much more Tennyson do they want to get?) and a very catchy bassline and drumbeat you can tap your pen along to.Their earlier songs, from the album ‘Schrei zu laut du kannst’ are all very young and carefree, including the gently sung ‘Rette mich’, which is all about how helpless you feel when a relationship breaks down about you ears. The opening song, schrei has a catchy shout-along introduction into the chorus which I really can’t get out of my head, and the surprisingly upbeat ‘Ich bin nicht Ich’ ‘s echoing verses and desperately sung chorus are truly impossible to forget. So, my advice is, don’t label them as ‘German Emo’s’, but go onto YouTube and listen to their songs, German and English. You just might learn something.

After the Parc des Princes concert!

AFTER
When they turned on the lights to the stadium, the public who was left understood that there wouldn't be any more pyrotechnic surprises, and that everything was over. Some stay for a few dozen minutes meanwhile staff is packing the material, and the trucks are ready to leave.

200 fans, among the most informed, went to the VIP entrance to try to see Bill, Tom, Georg, and Gustav leave, because often they change and eat a bit in their lodge before leaving.
At all the exits there are poster salesmen, and merch stands from the official boutique, which propose CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, hats...and and they distribute "pochettes" (?) from the Official Photo Album.
We can see the police taking a dozen or more suspects, handcuffed, suspected of robberies, harassment, or sexual touching, taking during the show. Some took away those who were sticking to some of the young girls. Obviously they hadn't come for the music...

Not many had gone to the hippodrome d'Auteuil, which was situated nearby, and had preferred to keep in their ears this 113 unforgettable souvenir.

Others went directly the hotel Park Hyatt. At around midnight, at both entrances, back and front, there were about 400 to 500 fans, some with parents who had accompanied them. They were all along the walls, between red and white security tape, and in waiting lines organized by the police and even the BAC, on the sidewalk facing the hotel, between two police cars.

Bill, Tom, Gustav, and Georg arrived by the principal entrance at around 23:00 without stopping or signing autographs.
On the second floor, fans were seen at the window of a room which they had reserved in order to try to approach the boys...and suppositions of all sorts were made when we saw pretty women, well-dressed, come in and then out, high-heels and sexy dresses: were they there for the band or were they simply hotel clients?

Tokio Hotel left by the back entrance at around 2:00 in the morning. They put a black van in front as a bait, for the fans to regroup around before leaving from behind accompanied by Andreas.
But about 50 courageous fans stayed, even sleeping against the hotel walls. They saw them pass 3 times, but they didn't stop. Many were foreigners, Portuguese, Spanish, or German.
End
Oh and, did I mention that Gustav's parents and Georg's mom were at the concert?

Hey, I'm sorry this wasn't perfect, the original article was so much better that it even made me feel like I'd been there :). Oh well, at least you have a little idea of what it was like?<3

The continuation of the concert Parc des Princes rerportage

Bill goes up to the superior stage. The public has recognized Schrei. Everywhere, people are singing and raising their arms to the sky. There are flames on each side. Bill seems to command the troupes, throwing with all his force "Schrei!" When the song comes to the part where it says "shut up!", everything stops. The public is quite for an instant and then it's followed by "Nein" with a terrible rumbling of the drums which becomes louder and the stage goes up in flames. Bill disappears.
Meanwhile the pause, the screens show a compilation of images from their 3 DVDs. Tokio Hotel, all young, in a supermarket, in luxurious hotels, and backstage...
And then Georg's bass becomes the hero of the giant screens during "Schwarz." The fans appreciate it, because it's transparent and fluorescent. Tonight the clear dark makes the light reflect and it becomes blue on the edges.
The riffs are heavy and Bill, who has changed clothes again, is seated on a suspended spherical plateau. His voice is soft and we can feel the emotion invade him, his makeup starts to run close to his right eye. He straightens up. Behind him, the screen is blood red. He descends to the mains stage and moves one arm from left to right. The public follows in suit. Bill finishes on his knees at the foot of the mic, a black stream flowing from his eyes.
Bill throws his jacket to the ground and starts Stich ins Gluck with "Eins, zwei, drei, vier..." he goes back up on the higher stage, and finds himself in the wind from
fans. His hair is moving and Bill points his finger to the spectators to tell them about this song which talks of drugs. On the Tom's riffs, the public sings the refrain by moving their arms and pointing to the band.
Meanwhile, it's the combat of the guitars. When one of the fans' favorite songs starts, Ubers Ende der Welt, everyone is still. For a year and a half, this song opened the Zimmer Tour. Then everyone is moving. Normal, since this song reminds us that we can't let ourselves be walked on by others.
On Reden, Bill faces Georg, and then Tom, who goes up on the left staircase. He is soon joined by Bill, and together they tell us this story. Tom's story, about just
wanting to talk to a girl. A conversation which ended with more...
Bill's face appears on the screens. The sound seems to have gone, but something's happening. After his intro, the sound hasn't started yet. Bill makes a sign with his hand: he's sorry for the technical incident. Heilig then starts, Bill's face reappears and in the public you can hear: "He is so gorgeous!" Bill comes to the front of the stage and stars start falling from everywhere, and flashes crackle.
On the screens, arrows announce "Geh." This song makes a lot of fans cry: one of them confides to us that for someone who is depressed, it really boosts their moral.
Bill goes back up the stage and rests his hand on Tom's shoulder. His voice is soft. This song is played electrically and with drums, but on the CD it is only
acoustic, on the single "An deiner Seite."
The red of the curtain and of the light and the background screen creates a bloody and dark atmosphere.
Bill starts Spring Nicht. At every refrain, the public
manifests itself. The song's theme, suicide, touches many of the fans. That's why Bill is ignited and his eyes, not leaving the audience, are full of emotion and they sing along with him. Even our editor in chief, Francois, joined in.
Bill says that the next song, they wrote for you, the fans: Wo sind eure Hande. Then he asks us, in German: "Where are you hands?" Fire starts on the stairs.
Everywhere flames are rising in this universe where the Tokio Hotel boys are the princes. Bill marks the rhythm in balancing himself on his legs, which he does so well.
And then the curtain of lights is covered with silvery lights. Bill continues to sing the piece, with flames behind him. When Tom catches the mic, the fans can't hold themselves back anymore, especially those who had reserved front places in order to be close to him.
Contrary to other dates, the band hasn't yet played "An deiner Seite." This is perhaps because of the fireworks which are supposed to take place at 22:30. Also, the show had started 6 minutes late.
After all this emotional fire, Bill catches his breath and announces that the next song, always interpreted with lots of intensity, is the one which made them become known: Monsoon. The stage is covered by an intense blue light. And then the sky appears on the screens. At the first few notes, a happiness mixed with tension rises. At my side, girls who have cellphones in their hands and cameras don't know anymore what to do: listen to the song, or make a friend hear it on the phone, take a picture, or sing...
Indeed, everyone knows the lyrics. Bill who is now on the superior stage, comes back down to hear them sing. And quietly, the song stops. There's a doubt...is it really the end? But then Bill suddenly turns around and starts running down the long extended stage and lets the rest of the song explode in his mic, meanwhile behind him, and in all the Parc, the sound is more violent and alive.
Tom joins him. This action is followed by an explosion of screams and arms waving in the air.
There is a pause, long enough to install a little scene in the middle for the acoustic instruments. The public who has understood that everything was going to take place there, precipitates to that corner of the Parc.
Bill is back. He has changed again and now wears black jogging pants with a black and white vest, which he himself had created, which carries the TH logo. Tom accompanies him for the song "In die Nacht." The twins give each other little smiles, this song evokes their future: they will never separate. The image is beautiful: the sky is still a little clear, and Bill's voice rises, calm. At the end, the public is soothed.
Everything on stage is soft. Rette mich stars, the blue light and the first few words create a fragile atmosphere around the four boys. The song, which means "rescue me," arouses a wave of tears from those on the lawn. They are numerous, those wanting to be saved by the boys. So they throw stuffed animals with the hopes to capture the boys' attention. Bill addresses a smiling "Danke schön" to them. This intimate session ends.
After a little pause in order to rearrange the instruments, the band reappears with a curtain full of lights which is raised again. The screens seem to be magma now, and Vergessene Kinder is dedicated to those forgotten children from the third-world. Bill suddenly appears on the top stage, bathed in an orange-red light, his presentation is moving.
The public shakes their yellow balloons and hangs on to those last notes which could perhaps announce the end of the show.
Their foreboding proves to be true. Bill announces the end of their show. He thanks Paris, the Parc, and the fans who have come from far. Effectively, while exiting you can see many license plates from all over France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, England, Holland, and Switzerland.
Ich bin da will be the last song. Bill is followed by Tom and Georg on the ramp. Meanwhile everything behind them is exploding, they rise up above the public. The
explosions continue and suddenly a rain of silver confetti falls. The public was supposed to waive the balloons only on this song. Even though it had been announced for several months, this project wasn't a total success: some had started to raise them during Vergessene Kinder, and the effect which many had hopped for, didn't
take place. You couldn't see the black balloons very well, they were high up, and the red balloons weren't very visible among the red seats. The operation was only really visible on the lawn/ditch where the yellow balloons had been well distributed ever since the eve of the concert and in the waiting lines.
Meanwhile, when the confetti was barely done falling to the floor, fireworks start. Red, white which in a last explosion provokes a second rain of confetti, Bill throws a last "thank you so much" and is the first to leave the stage to the dismay of many fans. The three others play a bit with the public. Tom leaves to thank those next to the stairs, meanwhile Georg goes on the ramp. They have fun emptying bottles of water on the first few rows, refreshing all the burning hearts. And they finish by throwing their towels in the arms of the lucky ones. The ultimate image, is that of a generous Gustav who asks them to execute a last "ola." When the lights are light all over the stadium, the message is clear, this time, it's really finished.
(Don't miss the next little bit about after the concert.)<3

Tokio Hotel on Stage! Parc des Princes reportage

20:20
Outside, horns are blown followed by long screams.
The group is predicted to be on stage at 20:30 or 20:25, but still no sign of them. Meanwhile, their 3 bodyguards pace in front of the lodge, a light stress arises. 20:30. The German chef of the guard from VSD Hamburg is there and you can also read the stress written on his face. The door opens...then closes. The minutes pass and the public screams the band's name. In this situation of waiting, all the eyes of the staff of the Parc are riveted on the door, which opens at 20:36.

First the bodyguard and then there they are. First Bill. Transformed. The boy is ready for this magical moment, that of the show. He had prepared himself at the hotel. He's wearing black pants slightly flared at the bottom, and a vinyl band on the side. Underneath his jacket, he's wearing a red shirt. His gaze is drawn into the long hall which leads to the stage. He's concentrating. Tom follows. His long baggy jeans amplifies his "cool" swaggers. His cap of the day is a "Hater." His long T-shirt leaves you to guess and over looked message of his inflamed heart. Gustav is stupefying. He is simply dressed in a white shirt and a beige bermuda. He's usually the first to enter on stage. Georg follows closely, in a white T-shirt with a dark illustration imprinted on, dressed in simple grey-beige pants. The guard behind ends the procession.

The Parc des Princes is in a fever. Cheeks are pink, and hearts are ready to explode. Paramedics are there, ready for those who won't be able to resist the pressure that was inflicted on them for several days. This Music Festival with Tokio Hotel is our reward. It's 25° and everywhere there's messages of support: "Tokio Hotel Das Ist Mein Leben," "Vergesst Uns Nicht." We are far from the hot messages from certain concerts (the famous Fick mich...). We have come from far, among the posters and banners, we recognize those from the Italian fan club, or the official Swiss forum fans, or from England, with their flag of the UK Street Team.

Under an azure sky, the Parc has adopted the colors of Germany: the higher tribune is black, underneath is red, and the ditch/lawn is full of yellow balloons. A present from France to the band, so they can see the colors of their country being waved underneath their eyes.

Then the tribune at the right gives the alert. They are here! From high up, the public can see the passage which leads to the stage. soon,t hey will appear on the big plateau, constituted of a central stage and a higher stage, which is smaller and you can access by two staircases on each extremity. 2 giant screens are installed on each side of the stage, underneath there are two other staircases.

20:43, a sound of thunder is released, as well as screams. The curtain full of lights is raised, accompanied by a roaring voice "Wilkommen in Tokio Hotel 1000 European Tour." An alarm is heard. Gustav is once again the first on stage. Tom and Georg follow him right after and take their usual places. Facing the public, Tom on the left and Georg to the right. The curtain lets Georg appear. Once the curtain is done it's ascension, multiple explosions take place on the front of the stage, meanwhile, behind, on the superior stage, a shadow emerges from the ground. There's Bill who starts Ich brech aus. His way of moving and uprooting himself up from the floor will soon become legendary. Some people judge it badly, but the fact is that it gives the songs an incisive side, as early as the first few notes. Would we prefer to see him taped to his mic and immobile? Tom and Gustav (they must mean Georg) are calmly positioned in front. Tom turns around from time to time, smiling at each explosion which comes from the superior stage. And here's Bill who starts his descent on the stairs at the left, meanwhile the drum's rhythm accelerates. A first song marked by the emotion and the scream, but also by the series of explosions of fireworks which Tokio Hotel had promised their fans a few months earlier. It's their first concert in a stadium, and to celebrate this event, they decided to be accompanied by a true pyrotechnical show.
And then, blue invades the scene. The curtain of lights is full of colors when the band starts Der letzte Tag. A wave shakes the public, and then all at once all arms are in the air, clapping hangs meanwhile Bill goes through the stage. Some can't see anything anymore, and are perched on the backs of friends or parents who sometimes display the band's T-shirt. Everywhere, messages appear in the form of posters, banners, or drawings. Mainly with "Danke schön" or "ich liebe dich" addressed mainly to Bill and Tom.
In the Parc, it's still as hot as before, and Bill finally takes of his jacket. He gives us several words: "Bonjour tout le monde, ca va?" which are then followed by 1000 Meere, and the clip is projected on the screens. And now you can see his T-shirt for the concert! That of the dead head which Bill wears regularly. It's a T-shirt anti-perspiration, equipped with a zipper, to facilitate the changing of clothes.

During the concert Bill will say several words before each song. Now, he tells us that it's one of the first songs which they composed and that they still have so much pleasure in playing.
When the first few notes of Leb' die Sekunde are heard, Tom who has been very good up till now, ignites. But today, he will not have sex with his Flying V guitar. He puts it up in the air and continues playing. The band has decided to give the concert a party atmosphere and continues to launch pyrotechnic effects. On stage, a mini-fire work of red and white is followed by bright sparks. Georg and Tom declare war and face each other. Meanwhile the drums continue, Bill advances to the front of the stage, which stretches out into the lawn, cutting it in two. It smiles while advancing to the middle. He has fun with the crown in the refrain, letting the crown sing lines.

Back on stage, Bill starts the presentation with the next song, telling us that we all need someone who loves us by our sides.
Then Totgeliebt starts, and in the ditch, the tribunes, everywhere, arms are raised from left to right. On the background screen, a burning cross is glowing. His necklace illuminates his face. Bill crosses the stage to salute the left tribune. Tom and Gustav are carried on by Bill's movement and exchange places. Bill always finishes with a smile on his lips.

The first few notes of Wir sterben niemals aus are heard. At the same instant the stadium is covered in white. The image focuses and it's a sea of black hearts on a white background which has invaded the concert. Bill starts the ascension of the left staircase. Maybe to see this sea of hearts beating for him. It is true that the band didn't appear very surprised by this, but Tom will wait for Heilig to thank the fans. You must remind yourself that this kind of operation is usually brought forth by the fans' initiative. Our band is hard to surprise. Tom thanks the public by joining his fingers to form a heart which he offers to the public with a smile...

Inside the Parc des Princes

Inside the Parc des Princes

Tokio Hotel has weighed their scaled very seriously. It was a true spinning entertainment. No voice tests, but they did test the instruments starting at 12:46. Bill, Tom, Gustav, and Georg did rehearsals under the sun this 21st of June, with 31° , nonstop, with Bill as conductor, who gave firm and professional instructions to the 3 others, as well as to the technicians. They rehearsed the "mise en scene." Bill wore his new hairstyle (which he has had since May) with shorter layers and more black, sometimes moving his head down, and putting his hair straight. Soberly wearing classic blue jeans and a plain black T-shirt, Bill wore sunglasses in order to protect himself from the bright light which reflected off the metal surface of the Parc des Princes. The atmosphere was laid-back, with Bill smiling, and at the end of certain songs, he'd let out little "lalalas". For 2 long hours this went on. Tom, Gustav, and Georg were granted several supplementary minutes of rehearsal, while Bill left to the lodge. TH left PdP a bit before 15:00.
They reappeared at around 18:37, and locked themselves up immediately in their lodge, constantly guarded by one French vigil and one or two bodyguards from the VSD Hamburg.
Their lodging, being the famous locker room of the PSG, with the well-known bathtub-jacuzzi. Among those privileged to be in with them were Andreas, the twins' best friend, who manages the fan club, the makeup lady, Benjamin Ebel, and David Jost.
Tokio Hotel didn't go out after that, not even to see BP Zoom.

BP Zoom
It took us about half an our to penetrate the fortress of the Parc des Princes and join BP Zoom. Passing in front of the imposing Tokio Hotel scene, you realize that it's a big event. The only ones who seem to manage the pressure of the day, are the four boys who greet us in the referee's lodge, which has become theirs for this day. They seem calm, it isn't the first time for Lionel (singer), Ludovic (guitarist), Jules (bassist), and Raphael (drummer) to play on such a big scene; this band has already opened with Sum 41, Superbus, Kyo, La Grande Sophie, and The Stranglers. And soon they will release their second album.

2 years of tours and more than 200 concerts, brings the to the present. "What's funny is that there were Tokio Hotel fans who left us messages on Myspace. Messages of encouragement saying that they would throw tomatoes on stage while we sung... The closer the date, the more crazy messages we received from crazy people who wanted places here today. There was even one who said she was from this magazine (we don't care). But the best, was this girl who said she came from Poland, especially to see us and that if they didn't let her come in, she would suicide." In response to the question: "Are you stressed?" Jules answered: "In any case, we are!" Lionel is tired and tells us: "Today it's the conditions of AC/DC. I expected it, but...it's like my DVDs." We hear noises, Tokio Hotel has arrived. Their lodge is close by, guarded by 6 men. BP Zoom even had to sign a contract where a clause states that they aren't allowed to touch Bill's hair. The question is the following: how did it happen that that ended up in the contract???
On the road to the catering. We are behind the scene and Tokio Hotel starts the rehearsals, which last for about 2 hours. 15:00, it's BP Zoom's turn. We are told that they are only allowed 30 minutes. Here, everything is in order, and the backstage resembles the launch tower at Nasa. Control screens are everywhere. After the voice and instrument tests, they were able to rehearse "Le mur du son", the boys returned to their lodges. Now they must wait for 19:15. We chat with the boys and they tell us that they will shoot a clip in Paris on the 6 and 7th of July. Also, there are places you can win to assit the shooting on their Myspace page.

Since 15:30, the doors to the Parc des Princes have opened, and the noise is even louder. 19:00. BP Zoom heads towards the stage. After an intro, they start their album "Tout casse" which raises the arms of the public. And naturally the hands move from left to right during their song "Le mur du son." Above them, there's a curtain of lights which will be on for the second part. Lionel doesn't let himself be intimidated by the messages of support for Tokio Hotel. At the right a banner "BP Zoom your fans are here" reminds him that this set is their and he orders to "shake the walls of the stadium." Calmed by "Dis-moi", the public panics during "Etoile d'argent" and then there's the electric "Appel aux Plasticines." BP Zoom manages it: their game on stage and their looks which don't leave the spectators makes this first part a true concert. Lionel: "Do you want rock'n'roll?" A storm of riffs and a recapture from AC/DC "If You Want Blood." An obscure title for many, but the energy that BP Zoom brings to this big song unites the whole Parc des Princes. The public is now standing up, pointing to the sky the Moloch sign and chanting "you've got it!"

(Don't miss the next post to hear about the second part of the event: Tokio Hotel!)

Special ROCKMAG edition PDP!: The big day!

THE BIG DAY!

After a turbulent night, because no less thean 50 people have been transported to the infirmary, the sun rises, announcing a beautiful summer day. And all the Tokio Hotel fans know it: tonight is the big night!

9:09
There is 24 groups of about 40 fans in between the barriers. They all slept on the spot under survival blankets or tents. Next, 1000 people arrive. They are taken care of by the security, who parks them too. It is already 24° and the weather forecast announces a hot day, almost very hot, all day. The first-aiders distribute survival blankets.
The people who organized the little surprises for TH are already here. Only two fans have been authorized to distribute the balloons and hearts. They are Lucie and Helene. Meanwhile, some parents take advantage to see their kids and give them clothes for the evening and some food. They also retrieve during that same occasion more tents and blankets. One excited mother screams to her daughter: "Don't talk like that to the security, they're not dogs!"

9:36
The heat is very present, and first-aid staff distributes bottles of water. There are so many minors at the spot and the responsibilities are too important for them to take the least risk.

10:36
It's the distribution of bananas for all those behind the barriers! The situation is comical, and everyone will appreciate it's value. The orders are strict and unavoidable: in order to go to the bathroom, you have to ask the security, who lets out fans 2 by 2. They put a number on their arms with a marker to avoid disorder...
Some will also go to change in the toilets of the café "Les 2 Stades"!

10:24
Some sneaky people (but not really) now arrive, and try to make the police believe that they were behind the barriers already that night. But it doesn't work, they aren't the first to try that trick...

14:00
It's becoming hotter and hotter and everyone protects themselves however they can under the survival blankets.

14:43
Water hoses open on the fans to refresh them. Screams of joy are heard in all directions.

15:30
Access to the Parc is first open to the campers, who abandon many sleeping bags on the spot, tents or backpacks. Once the campers are inside, the doors are then open for the other lawn ticket holders.
Nadege, 18, from Pau is crying because she lost her place. A photographer from ROCKMAG give his to her. (aw :) )

15:38
We cross many fan groups called the DDM'z Girls, they are hated by all the other fans because they are all the Tokio Hotel concerts and always in the first row. Half of them have already met the band. One of them has even been on stage, singing with Bill at Bercy. Her name is Alice, alias Lilazila.

16:00
We find Raphael, who doesn't pass unnoticed with his Bill look. Everything is there, the hair-do, the glasses, the clothes, all the way to his black manicured nails.
In spite of the big crowd around the Parc, everything takes place well, I would even say calmly. We could have had things bad. Each person waits to enter the stadium, the lawn or the benches, according to the ticket.

16:38
Manu (Myspace.com/OfficalStBPZoom) finds Pauline, who takes care of the official page in the north for BP Zoom (Myspace.com/TeamBPZoomDu62159), the first part of this evening, to retrieve the banner where "BP Zoom, your fans are here" is written upon. It is 3*1 meters so that everyone can see it well.

16:45
We also cross Daisy, a well-known fan in Germany, because of her participation in the clips, Schrei, Scream, and Der letzte Tag.

17:20
The Parc is filling up little by little. A banner at least 10 meters long is being put up at the top of the tribunes. Flags are floating around in different spots of the stadium.

18:00
The fans are getting impatient and are chanting "Tokio Hotel!" Regularly, making the whole public join along and ask for only that! The least blow of a horn arouses screams, and a little group of fans on the lawn prepares the people on the benches to say "ola" during this period of waiting. At the left of the lawn entrances, a paramedic area is installed under a white tent, ready to intervene in the least accident.

18:45
The stadium is now well full and the fans are getting more and more impatient. Yellow balloons are blooming on the lawn.

19:45
Smoke is arising from the stage and BP Zoom makes its entrance. The public is excited. BP Zoom offers a nice first part and the Tokio Hotel fans receive them how it should be: applauds, banners, and high spirits.

19:45
The end of this first part is now thanking the wonderful public. Now, they must give place to Tokio Hotel, the show must go on...
(Don't miss the next part!)

ROCKMAG special edition PDP (translation)

Monday 16
Already several fans are wandering around the Parc des Princes this Monday. They are trying to make contact with other fans. Charlotte is the first to arrive. She knows already that she will live special moments next Saturday and she's moves a little away. Silent at the moment, this place will become an immense mob ready to receive its idols! But the police is present and prevents the young people from camping in front of the Parc. Kenza, 14 year old, Parisian, confides to us: "They make their rounds up til at least 3 in the morning." Morgann, 20, pretends to be their mother in order to protect them from police checks. Solidarity obliges it...

In the media, there are still remarks about the fact that the Parc des Princes concert isn't sold out yet...It's also hard to fill the Parc the 21st of June, but we can't attribute that as Tokio Hotel's fault, who is losing speed. Bercy was sold out in 2 hours. But some parents found it unreasonable to assemble minors, usually younger than 15, in a football stadium. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, the problem has been fixed: the organizers have placed the Stadium concert in Geneva to a more traditional hall, at the Arena.
And also, there is a date choice mistake: organizing a paying concert the day of the Music Festival, it's like making people pay to see fireworks on the 14th of July! (14th of July is France's national holiday)

Tuesday 17
The police, present 24/7, watches a good 30 fans carefully and sends them back home every evening. Checking identity papers and calling parents for the minors! It is said that barriers will be placed all around the PdP on Friday night, which suggests that lots of impatient people will be able to sleep there the eve of the concert. Morgane, 17, from St Brieuc, arrived with her suitcase today. It is 15:34, she will stay all afternoon and a good part of the night.

Wednesday 18
Nina, 15, Parisian, has come to do her tour of the PDP just like she has done every day since Monday. She walks around with a clan of friends: "If we come every day it's to show other fans that we are really awaiting this concert. Also, we want to be the first. We made a list to get to know the first 50 girls present since the beginning of the week, to be able to look out for each other and be well placed in the line the day of the concert." They take turns standing in line so as not to lose their places.
According to some misinformed people, Tokio Hotel would be arriving Thursday in Paris and would visit the place in the afternoon.

Thursday 19
Quentin, the editor of ROCKMAG, passed at 16:02 to take the winning lots, offered by the Boutique Officielle who is trying to put up its merch stand. A trailer is at the door entrance. Two "roadies", bare-chested and muscular are unloading things for the scene, in a very demonstrative manner, under the admiring eye of about 30 young girls. There is even one girl who is filming them. The weather forecast isn't looking very bright for the Parc today: 18° and heavy rain. But on Friday and Saturday, things will be heating up to 23°, with the return of the sun. Nina, Morgann, Kenza, Morgane and Maelle meet each other there every day, the atmosphere is very high. When we ask them about anti-Tokio Hotels, they answer: "There aren't any for the moment, and I think if they come, they will understand very quickly that they aren't welcome (laughs)!"
At 20h43, at the last minute, Nina announces to us that a new directive has been taken by the police prefect: the fans won't be allowed until Saturday 12H30 in front of the PdP! The waiting line organized by Nina's little group seems compromised. She will go the next day to the police headquarters to learn if the rules will be changed. Meanwhile, several people tell us that the band has arrived at the hotel Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome...and the fans are staying in front of it, lurking.

Friday 20
Contrary to what was predicted, it rains at around 16H and the weather stays quite cloudy. Indeed, since Thursday, things have changed. We find Nina at the spot. She tells us that her and a friend were absent for a while to change, and when they came back they police had installed barriers to "park" the fans (90% are girls) annihilating their efforts of the week. In spite of all, they manage to negotiate with a policewoman, and get an alright spot in the line. But still, their little group is now disseminated in different places. Their list is now obsolete. At 19h 400 people are waiting to sleep on the spot under survival blankets or tents in order to be the first on the lawn, 21H23. This time it's for sure, and Christophe, the photographer of ROCKMAG, is on the spot: Tokio Hotel arrives at the hotel Park Hyatt from behind, meanwhile the German security team enters from in front. Some of the 300 fans who are there start leaving, about a hundred stay, hoping that the four kids will show themselves at the balcony. But they don't show up. 21h57, the police leave, and then dozen fans which were still there disperse. Inside, Tokio Hotel is giving a filmed interview on the terrace. And at 22H36, they leave quickly in a white van to an unknown destination.
23h, at the Parc des Princes, the tension is rising. 300 fans are stationed behind the barriers in boxes, by groups of 40, under blankets given by first-aid security, and under tents. Several times, the security argues with them. They are forbidden to get up, and their parents aren't even allowed to come and take photos. The police is at the beginning of the avenue which leads to the stadium. I ask permission from someone in the security to stand up and take a picture, he tells me, yes. Barely being able to take a picture, 5 men come upon me, screaming and insulting me. The police asks me to leave because the security is at the end of their wits and we must not worsen the situation...

ROCKMAG special edition PDP (translation)

Ever since the the announcement of the Parc des Princes concert on the 24th of December, many events have occurred and provoked a suspense, worthy of being a film scenario: changing of dates, canceled tour, hospitalization, curse of Friday 13...

24 of December, 2007
NRJ announces that Tokio Hotel will have their very first concert of the tour in a stadium, and it will be on the lawn of the Parc des Princes, in Paris, the 20th of June, 2008. A real Christmas present for thousands of fans who already dream of this encounter. Immediate reactions: "Great, a mega scene for a mega band!"

16th of January, 2008 at 10h
All the tickets are being sold and the fans have answered the call. Hordes of girls and boys wait in front of the Fnac and other places where tickets are being sold, in all of France, to assure their presence in the event. Things are organized to facilitate the venue, the site TicketNet.fr proposes leave and return tickets in an autocar+concert for dozens of cities.

A poster with a particularly effective artwork is published in the n#85 of ROCKMAG.

28 January
A slow-down in sales is being felt. The bad reputation of the Parc des Princes is worrying the parents. Skirmishes during football matches have already provoked fears, even refusals. The site TokioHotelAuParc.com is made in order to reassure the parents. Everything is indicated and explained to explain the day, as well as the organization of the security. The message is spread: "The Parc des Princes wishes a good evening to all those who will come on the 20th of June, to applaud Tokio Hotel live."

No doubt just for publicity, the hardcore rock group announces on their Myspace page, assuring the first part of the concert. A rumor which was denied several days later...

9th March
A first set-back comes, disturbing Tokio Hotel's agenda: after a high demand from the fans, the German group accepts to change the date of the concert in France. Actually, the week following the 16th of June is a period of exams, and lots wouldn't be able to come on the 19th, Friday. Because of this request and in order to better satisfy the public, the quartet decides to move back the concert day. The tickets which were already bought for the 20th of June are still valid for the concert on the 21st, Saturday. For those who don't yet have places, the sales will start on the 19th of March, Wednesday.

The poster in ROCKMAG will modified and published in n#89.

14th March
The four 'kids' are at the Dôme de Marseille. The concert is shortened because Bill has voice problems. The days pass and the pain persists. Bill will finally undergo an operation of his vocal chords on the 30th of March. The tour dates are canceled and the big question everyone is asking is: will Tokio Hotel be at the Parc des Princes on the 21st of June?

April
Bill is resting and the tour starts on the 3rd of May, at the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey, USA. And the Parc des Princes concert is confirmed.

BP Zoom is officially announced to start the first part of the concert. (BP Zoom is a French band)

May
The fans organize themselves to offer Tokio Hotel an unforgettable music festival. A heart will be waved on Wir sterben niemals aus. And on Ich bin da, a release of balloons, with the colors of the German flag; yellow, red, and black.
In the Tokio Hotel Encyclopedia there is a heart along with the TH logo.

Other surprises are being prepared at the last moment. The 27th of May, a blog Banderoles-TH-PdP.Skyrock.com is created to make a banner "VERGESST UNS NICHT, WIR LIEBEN EUCH UBER ALLES" (Don't forget us, we love you more than anything). On the 15 June, Rachel appeals to the fans who want to put their photo on the T-shirt that she plans to bring to the scene.

Ever since the beginning of June, just like when all important events are gonna take place, rumors start circulating... Contest games are set in place in order to multiply the places, on NRJ, in magazines or on Internet.

And on the accursed day, Friday 13, you read on different sites that Bill - who hasn't properly recovered from his OP - sang playback in Dortmund. The staff denies it, it was in reality just the badly-set band. But Bill sang directly and didn't have any voice problems. So no worries needed for the Parc des Princes concert.

Tokio Hotel rocks all of Europe!

Concert with 30,000 fans!
Tokio Hotel rocks all of Europe!

Since last Sunday, Tokio Hotel is now the most successful German band of today. During their appearance in the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, Bill and co. rocked with 30,000 fans, mainly females. After their guest performance in the US last month, Tokio Hotel now rocks Europe. Paris was only the start of their tour!

30,000 screaming fans welcomed Tokio Hotel on Sunday evening on the stage for the former World Cup stadium in 1998 (when France won). Almost as many unique offerings as fans were made to the frontman, Bill Kaulitz, by the french fanbase: "Bill, I love you!" screamed the sweet French fans in German.

In addition to Tokio Hotel's huge success, this concert was also a great act of international recognition. Bill, Tom, Georg, and Gustav sing their songs in German, in the otherwise unfriendly-to-forgreign-language France. Before the concert, thousands of letters were written to their record label and the media, asking that the four boys from Magdeburg sing in their native tongue.

This phenomenon isn't new. In their first tour in the United States, early May, many American fans wanted Tokio Hotel to sing their songs in the original version, German. Many fans also learn German in order to sing along to their songs. Also, yesterday evening at the 90-minute appearance, many fans sang along to the choruses. If this trend will continue throughout their European tour, the German language would experience a real "renaissance."

"If such a whole stadium sings along to your songs, you most certainly get goose-bumps!" said Bill. On the 6th of July, Tokio Hotel will rock in Rome, Italy - and hopefully give that goose-bump-ish feeling back to the frontman, Bill Kaulitz.
