BRAVO says:
Bravo released a picture and article of Bill in their latest edition, and "Loser" was written on top of the picture.
"Nothing but money-hungry or what? Tokio Hotel has written a miserable letter to the chancellor, Angela Merkel. That is to say, millionaire Bill Kaulitz fears that he doesn’t get enough in his account anymore due to illegal internet downloads. The country should now hunt down the girls who cannot afford expensive Tokio Hotel things with their 15-Euro pocket money. A punishment for true fans!"
(I thought Bravo was supportive of Tokio Hotel, but this makes me wonder. I wouldn't worry for those who don't have the means to buy all their albums, because how is anyone gonna stop a few illegal downloads? With all these P2P programs we have nowadays... . Just keep in mind that Tokio Hotel isn't the only band in the world who wants to stop illegal downloads; probably EVERY single band thinks like them. Illegal downloads=less money, so this isn't fair that they're picking on Tokio Hotel.)
Staragora decides to revert to Bill Kaulitz: Whatever one thinks of the quality of his songs, his character speaks out. In previous articles, dealing with his sexuality, you have been thousands to read and post comments.
Both are guitarists (what? not Bill...) and began their career very young. Bill Kaulitz was born in the late 80s, the time when David Bowie met his greatest commercial success. Bill has claimed Bowie to be among his most direct influences.
Bill Kaulitz and Bowie, both share a certain taste for the glam look, invented by Bowie, Marc Bolan of TRex, and Elton John: remember Ziggy Stardust and his red hair. Outrageous makeup, disheveled hair, and hair dye; everything is perfect to make one look like a stranger from beyond. Bill adopts another rocker-androgynous style called "glam destroy." He has a tattoo on his lower abdomen, which is a star, a second, the group logo on his neck, and a third on the inside of his left arm, "Freiheit 89", which means "Freedom 89": freedom for him is the day of his 18th birthday. No, 89 is not for him the date of the French revolution!
The costumes Bowie had at the time, have been the cause of thousands of clones, wanting to look like their idol. Same for Bill Kaulitz and Tokio Hotel: it's amazing to see how in their concerts, fans bear their resemblance.
Another point which brings them closer: David Bowie loves Germany. He lived in Berlin with Iggy Pop. These were among his best albums: Low, Heros...he was also influenced by the group Kraftwerk. Bowie is also a fan of German expressionist cinema. David Bowie was so impressed by Germany, that when he arrived by train in London, after his years of expatriation in Berlin, he said "Heil Hitler" to his fans who came to greet him: scandal! On his part, Bill Kaulitz has never played with such things.
Bill Kaulitz and David Bowie share a certain taste for ambiguity. Bowie has assumed a very early bisexuality, scandalous at the time. Bill Kaulitz is very discreet about his private life, even if the rumors are well in progress.
Finally, Bill Kaulitz and David Bowie have a feature which binds them: they both have a twin brother who inspires them. Bill integrated his in his band. Bowie's twin committed suicide in the 90s (which brings you to the song "Jump they say"). This has been difficult for Bowie, who has always believed that his brother was a genius.
We wish Bill Kaulitz a career as prestigious as David Bowie's. On the terms of music and song themes, do you find any common points between the Bill Kaulitz and David Bowie?
Tokio Hotel's first time on US television.
The German teen-band, Tokio Hotel, is for the first time on a large US TV show, and hopes to launch it's career in America.
The foru boys from Magdeburg played at night, in the renowned NBC show "Late Night with Conan O'Brian". their successful hit "Ready, Set, Go!" Bill Kaulitz (who performed for millions of people, on American TV, six weeks after his vocal cord operation) said after the event, "Of course we were very nervous, but it all went well."
