A meeting with the German phenomenon group that creates hysteria wherever it goes.
Bill, Tom, Gustav, and George met up with us in their hotel suite in Cannes, Friday afternoon.
In this interview, they discuss their NRJ Music Awards nomination, their relations with their fans, and reveal a few details about their concert, taking place at the Parc Des Princes, in Paris, on June 20th, …with a lot of humor!

What was your reaction towards your nomination?

Bill: We’re super happy, and we’re already excited. For us, this is something really huge. The others had been there last year, unfortunately I wasn’t there. They told me a lot of cool stuff, said it was really great, and what it was like on stage. And it’s really huge.

The French fans?

Bill: Actually, it’s really thanks to them that we’re here, that we’re nominated. We never imagined something like this. It’s thanks to the fans that we’ll be standing next to such great artists tomorrow. We’ve already experienced great moments last year on our tour with them and we experienced great concerts too. We’re going on our Europe Tour this year and we’re really happy to be seeing all the fans again and to be experiencing more big moments with them. We’re very happy to be at the NRJ Music Awards.

How can you explain such a big success?

Tom: Well actually there’s a very specific reason why Bill just handed me the mic: it’s surely thanks to me. That’s really good even if I can’t say that it’s only thanks to me, but honestly I look at the other three and think “Wow, it’s incredible!” Well, okay, if we were to answer that question seriously, I can say that we’ve been trying for a long time to find the reason for our success. I mean, we’re three weird dudes, and a slightly less weird dude, which would be me, that come from Magdeburg, and who make music together. So frankly our success cannot be explained. We have no secret, no explanation.

Your performance for the NRJ Music Awards?

Tom: Well, obviously we’ve thought about some stuff, which we can’t talk about yet, because we can’t reveal anything. Until now we’ve only rehearsed once, and it didn’t work out so well, so tomorrow will be a surprise for us too! We hope everything works out and we’ll just have to see tomorrow.

The Parc Des Prines on June 20th?

Tom: Well, a surprise that we can already reveal is that Georg is going to be naked for the entire concert. He’ll be wearing his socks though.
Bill: Well, besides that we’ve obviously been planning a lot of things. We’re designing the state. It’s true that the Parc Des Princes is huge, it’s also a big deal for us, so it’ll probably be something amazing. We’re certainly going to present some really great stuff and, well now there’s less than six months left. *smiles*
